WIILLIAM BOLCOM COMMISSIONING
Our chapter has finalized our contract with William Bolcom's publisher for a major composition for organ and brass, to be premiered by the Canadian Brass and Douglas Reed on April 19, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church in Evansville.   Please direct any questions or suggestions you may have about this exciting project to Robert Nicholls, who is chairing a committee to plan community events around the premier and raise funds for the project.

ROBERT NICHOLLS WINS NATIONAL INPROVISATION CONTEST
Congratulations to Robert Nicholls who was the winner of the AGO's 2012 National Competition in Organ Improvisation (NCOI) finals at the national convention in Nashville in early July.  See this informative article in the Evansville Courier and Press:

IN MEMORIAM
Our chapter has made two contributions to the Dufford Scholarship Fund in memory of two chapter members who have passed away recently, Melvin Wilkinson and John Bennett. Our condolences go to the families of both men, especially to chapter member Dan Wilkinson and his mother.  Dan has written to thank the chapter for our support and prayers.  We also received a kind thank you note from Susan Goldsmith in Maryland, a cousin of John Bennett, regarding the memorial contribution for John.

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE TO MEET
Our Executive Committee will meet Monday, November 5 at 5:30 at East Side Christian Church.

FALL OFFICERS' RETREAT
Our dean, Neal Biggers, attended the Region V Officers' Retreat October 14th and 15th at the Monastery Immaculate Conception Ferdinand, Indiana and Saint Meinrad Archabbey, St. Meinrad, IN.   Informative sessions were provided on chapter building, next summer's regional convention in Michigan and professional concerns.  Recitals were given on the organs at Ferdinand and St. Meinrad.  Participants attended from Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Michigan.
