Kristin Jones graciously hosted us in her home, and prepared a special cake in honor of the occasion.
Following a meal of Kristin's chili and potluck side dishes, some of the minutes of the first few meetings of the chapter were read and discussed.  Members then shared some joys and concerns we face in our work today.

Hundreds of trick-or-treaters and family members heard us play either inside the Main Street United Methodist Church, or in the church yard (where food was served by the church) and the main town square through loud speakers.

Players included guild members Kristin Jones, Helen Skuggedal Reed, Michael Salazar, Jenni Taylor, Matthew Vanover and Neal Biggers, plus a couple of other musicians from Boonville. Other guild members were present in the audience.

Tinker Memorial Concert
November 8, 2009
Members of our chapter provided a reception of cookies and apple cider following this concert honoring the memory of Milton Z. Tinker, an early founder of music education in Evansville.  The concert was at the University of Evansville and featured university keyboard students and the Signature School orchestra.  Guest Jeff Lyons and Douglas Reed talked about the Tinker Memorial Organ at the coliseum downtown and demonstrated some of the pipes from the organ.

Summer Social 2009
An enjoyable evening was had by all at our summer social at the home of Kristin Jones, August 23, 2009.  Robert Nicholls reported on the upcoming season and presented a slideshow of the POEA.  We held some of Kristin's husband Wayne's historic instruments for our photo.

Pictured above are participants in the POEA 2009 organized by the Evansville Chapter and the University of Evansville Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.  Shown are participating students, faculty and chaperones, with Daniel Roth and Phyllis Menke in the pulpit at the Huntingburg United Church of Christ following Daniel Roth's wonderful concert on Wednesday evening.  The Phylllis and Robert Menke Endowment of the Dubois County Community Foundation sponsored the concert.  The students and wider community also were inspired by concerts on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings by the POEA faculty.
