From the Dean

Dear Members,

As your new dean, I feel that I should introduce myself. My name is Kevin Ellerbusch and I have lived in Evansville for six years. For the past four years, I have been the full-time director of music ministries at Newburgh United Methodist Church. I received the Bachelor of Arts degree in music (organ) from the University of Evansville in 2000.

It is my privilege to serve the Evansville Chapter as dean this year. As many of you know, there is a considerable amount of work involved in running an AGO chapter, and we want to make the most of all our efforts. But, one of my concerns is the number of our members that never attend our events. I realize that musicians are in great demand, and that most of our members work a full-time job during the day plus a part-time job at a church. But, the strength of the Evansville chapter lies in you.

The executive committee has made a commitment to involve more members this year in any way possible. If you indicated on your membership form that you would like to help in a certain area, expect a call. Also, please let us know what programs you would like to see our chapter do. And let us know if there are changes we can make in scheduling programs that will allow you to attend more of them. Maybe it would help if someone picked you up and drove you home from programs. The executive committee is here to serve you, our members. We’re just a phone call or email away.

Sincerely,

Kevin Ellerbusch

Did you know that our chapter has a great website? It has useful information about our chapter, job postings from churches and other organizations in the area needing musicians, and links to other sites of interest to our members

Need a Ride?
We realize that some of our members would rather not get out alone at night to attend our programs. Well, we have the answer for you. Just call Kevin at 475-7972 and he will arrange for someone to pick you up, take you to the program, and return you home safely.

Let’s Party….AGO style!!!!

Great food, wonderful people, a beautiful home, and a live brass quintet playing in the back yard by the pool. What could you possibly want to do on August 24th that could be better than that?

Quick! Grab your calendar and a pen and write “AGO Summer Social 6:00 p.m.” on Saturday, August 24th, because you won’t want to miss it. Pat and Heather McCormick have graciously invited us to have this event at their home in Henderson again this year.

The chapter will provide Shyler’s barbeque, drinks, and place settings. You can add to the festivities by bringing one of your favorite dishes to share. It is a well-known fact that pipe organ enthusiasts are great cooks.

Please RSVP to Kevin Ellerbusch at 812-475-7972, and please let us know if you need a ride.

Directions to the McCormick’s in Henderson:
